Ras Mohamed
Ras Mohamed was declared Egypt’s first and only National Park in 1983 and is an area of stunning geological features both on land and under the water. Your day begins with a tour of the park and a chance to explore the amazing rock formations and wild coastline. You will find mountains and wadis, desert dunes and craggy beaches as well as an abundance of animal life including foxes, gazelles, lizards, and ibexes. You will also discover the most northerly located Mangrove tree outcropping in the world which serves as a valuable breeding area and habitat for both migrating and resident birds such as the white stork or raptor.
Although often crowded, Main Beach remains one of the best locations to see the vertical coral walls for which Ras Mohamed is renowned. A magical kaleidoscope of life and colour, the reefs are widely recognised as among the best in the world. Vibrant corals, a multitude of brightly colourful tropical fish, barracuda, jackfish, tuna and sharks can all be seen and there will be plenty of time to swim and snorkel in the warm crystal clear waters before returning to Sharm El Sheikh.
